Black circle of despair

[WARNING: Potentially triggering. Proceed with caution!]

In darkness I wander
In darkness I fumble
Where’s the exit?
Where’s my ending?
Will I ever see light?

Black is my vision
Black is my world
In black I can hide
It is cold, but comforting
I feel safe

Black is also warm
In here, there is safety
No one here can see me
I am invisible

Everything is on endless repeat
I feel dead and barely alive
yet I’m still here
It’s all a circle of hell
How can I break it?

I want out,
but I want to stay
What do I really want,
and what are the alluring voices of depression?

Who am I?
Who is the real me?
In this flurry of darkness
This circle of repetition and habit
This sea of confusion
I wander this wasteland of self-discovery, alone

In the mirror all I see is a blurry image
Who is this person?
Who am I?
It’s all black.

-------------------------------------------------------------
A short poem I wrote last week at this thing I'm going to a few days a week now. We were told to write down a shape, a colour and a feeling. I wrote down a circle, black, and half-dead. After this we were told to write either a poem using all words, or write a few poems starring each word. I decided to write one poem using all of the words and this is what the end result.

Originally the title was Black circle of death, but I thought it was a little too dramatic, and changed it to despair instead, since the poem's apparent red thread seems to be depression.

Disclaimer:
I own this poem, don't steal!
