Canada x Reader: Kinds of Perverts [PRIZE]
Christmas season just ended and you and your boyfriend Matthew are currently at his father-figure Francis' house in France. And for once Francis didn't actually go after any Santas during the holidays and spent it jovially with the two of you. Christmas had been rather spectacular and New Years even more so, but now it was the days after and you were just enjoying a few days of peace before it was time to get back to work.
You and Matthew were curled up on one of the couches in the living room, sharing a large blanket that you had brought from his house in Canada. Both of you had a cup of hot chocolate each in your hands to warm yourselves up in the cold whether. You gazed upon the lit fire in the fireplace as you cuddled and enjoyed your hot drink.
“I never knew France or staying with Francis could be this peaceful,” you said softly before taking a sip from your cup.
“I think that papa has finally started to calm down since I got the courage to ask you out...” Matthew mumbled quietly with a slight blush on his cheeks.
“Ha ha ha, I guess I've been a good influence then! No, but I don't think I made that much of a difference, Mattie. I'm not really all that much.”
“Don't put yourself down like that!” he scolded.
You kissed his cheek and smiled as you watched his face go beet red. “Sorry, Mattie. And besides I don't know if I would call pushing us onto the couch, demanding that we stay here, calming down.”
“He just worries about you and you know it.”
“Yeah, I do...”
A comfortable silence blanketed the vicinity and the soft crackle of the fire created a warm and safe atmosphere.
You gazed into the flames and lost yourself in thoughts for a moment. There was something you had put off telling Matthew about, and the fact that your company had gotten a contract offer with another large company overseas and that your boss wanted to send you to their country to represent your company and make sure to create a good relationship with them so the collaboration would start on a good note.
You would be gone for several months and you didn't quite know how to tell Matthew, which left you a little edgier than usual during the holidays. This trip to France had actually been a last minute decision between Matthew and Francis because Matthew thought that a trip out of the country would make you calm down a little.
And Francis had made sure to keep you as relaxed and entertained as possible during the holidays. He had sent you on spa trips to spas of his own recommendation and taken you shopping in Paris so you could just enjoy yourself, while Matthew had provided with some expert massaging when you got home. For the most part this plan had worked but now that the holidays were over the stress over how to tell him became prominent again.
It was nearing the time when you would return home and you still didn't know how to approach the matter. This resulted in Francis practically pushing the two of you onto his couch and lighting the fireplace while Matthew draped the blanket of the both of you, then basically ordered Matthew “to not her leave this couch”, as he put it, until you had fallen asleep. At this you had deadpanned and tried to convince him that nothing was wrong, but he wouldn't listen to that, and before you could object further he had pushed cups of hot chocolate into your hands and left.
“Francis really is something else, you know that Mattie? I sometimes find it hard to believe that you were raised by this man.”
Matthew chuckled slightly, the blush not leaving his face. “H-he is a little unique, I guess, eh?”
“Definitely.”
Matthew looked at you as you stared into the flames of the tiled furnace, seemingly deeply in thought. He wondered what you thought about. A few weeks ago he had noticed that you started acting a little fidgety, but didn't want to bother you by asking, however as it seemed the stress of whatever was on your mind was only getting worse he started to really worry about your health. Maybe he could help you with whatever worried you if only you told him, but you didn't and he didn't want to seem too pushy.
He let out a sigh and looked down into his mug. His own reflection stared back at him and he could see the light frown that creased his forehead into a worried look. What was the right decision? Should he try to be more brash and demand that you tell him? No... you might get scared off if he did that. Then should he just be patient and wait it out? No... He'd worry himself to death before any conclusion would come. Was there no middle ground?
Argh! This was so infuriating! He furiously scratched his scalp in frustration.
“Mattie, what are you doing?”
He immediately stopped what he was doing and looked sheepishly at you, laughing slightly in embarrassment. “Ah... Eh... N-nothing...! It's nothing...!”
You eyed him suspiciously. “Uh-huuh... So why are you stuttering so badly and avoiding my eyes then?”
His eyes darted all over the place. “I-I'm not!”
“Yes, you are. You're an awful liar, Mattie. So tell me: Why you were scratching your scalp so intensely.”
“Uhm... I... ” He tried to find the right words, but eventually just settled on being honest about it. “I was wondering about how to approach you about your increased stress this past month... I didn't quite know how to go about it, but I guess you solved that for me, eh?”
Your eyes widened slightly in surprise before you looked away a little. “... Then I suppose we both suffered from the same problem...”
This statement confused Matthew. Was that what had worried and stressed you out so much this past month? Didn't you know you could tell him anything? He wouldn't judge you. He voiced his confusion to you. And you immediately started waving your hands almost panicked and quickly told him that you knew that, it was just that this was a new situation for you and that you had never been in this kind of situation before.
Matthew nodded understandingly and told you that you could take your time and think through what you were going to say, he could wait.
“Thank you, Mattie,” you smiled and took a deep breath. “Well you see... It's like this... A few weeks ago my boss told me that our company had gotten a huge contract offer with another country here in Europe, and he wanted to start this new collaboration off on a good note. So he planned to send a representative from our company to the country where the other company is located.”
Matthew nodded. “Oui, go on.”
“The representative of the company would be spend several months overseas and well... He... wanted me to represent our company...”
Matthew was shocked to say the least and he fell silent thinking this over in his head. On one hand he was happy for you. This was a great opportunity for you, but on the other hand he was a little sad because this meant that he wouldn't be able to see you for months. No more kissing or cuddling in front of the fire on the couch, no more rowdy hockey nights where the two of you bet on what's going to happen on the ice, none of that for several months. He was going to miss that, but... It was only going to be for a few months, then you'd be back.
“I'm really happy for you, ma chérie. It's a great opportunity for you! And it's only going to be for a few months, right? I think we should be able to handle that, eh?”
“But Mattie, do you really think we could handle a long distance relationship? I've heard that it's the death of many couples.”
“Perhaps, but none of those relationships involved having you as a girlfriend.”
A blush crept onto your face. “Stop joking, Mattie...”
“I'm not, ma chérie. I mean it. I'm lucky to be blessed with you as my girlfriend.”
You awkwardly fiddled with your mug as you looked down into the remaining liquid and your reflected face.
“And I really am happy for you. We can still keep in touch through Skype and such, and when you come home I'll be right there at the airport waiting for you with open arms.” He smiled that gentle smile of his which made your heart melt, giving you hope that you could actually get through this.
You put your mug down on the coffee table in front of you then flung your arms around your boyfriend in glee. A smile adorned your lips.
“I'm so happy you took it so well! I was afraid for a bit that you'd want to break up with me or something! I'll make sure to call you at least once a week, Mattie!”
“Ha ha ha, that sounds good, eh,” he laughed. “Want to continue to cuddle?”
You nodded and made yourself comfortable in his lap and arms. “Mhm...”
Matthew smiled contently at this then place his well-protected mug of hot chocolate on the coffee table beside yours. Yes, he could feel that everything would be alright. He was glad that the two of you finally got to sort everything out that this miscommunication had caused.
As you breathed you inhaled Matthew’s scent, but not just from Matthew but from the blanket as well. This got you thinking.

“Oui, that sounds like a good idea.”
At that moment Francis decided to bust in on your romantic moment and ruin it for you. “Per'aps you should give him a pair of your used panties?”
You shot up from your comfortable position in Matthew's lap, cheeks burning from embarrassment as you stared incredulously at Francis.
“What the-!? What kind of pervert are you, Francis?!”
“But wouldn't zat be perfect? Zey would 'ave your scent.”
“FRANCIS!!!”
“Ohonhonhonhon!”

Misleading title is misleading. XD
I finally got down to writing one of the prizes to the winner of the contest!
So here's the first fanfic of the two that the winner of mine and usagi-hikari9's contest won. It took me this long to finally settle on a story, and it was purely coincidental, and if you've been keeping up with my journals recently you'll know where it takes its inspiration. But that isn't of course the entire story. The ending itself has its own inspiration.
She wanted fluff, she got herself some fluff. But it's been a while since I last wrote pure fluff it was a little challenging for me, but in a good way.
Here's the story that inspired this story and mainly what I used in the ending: I got the inspiration to write this when I discussed exchanging scent items with my boyfriend before I leave for my studies. And she then suggested (jokingly) that I should give him a pair of used panties. My reply to that was: "What the hell?! What kind of pervert are you?!"
Well, thank you, mom, for giving me the inspiration for this short little one-shot XD
Anyways, I hope you guys like this. And I always appreciate feedback. Especially the critical ones.
