Finland X Yoh X Sweden: Nostalgia for all ages (Drabble)
“EEEEP!!!!”
“WAH!!” Finland leapt from his seat in his recliner in the living room at the high pitched shriek that came from one of the rooms on the second floor and broke the peaceful silence that had roamed in the house. When he jumped, he managed to spill his mug of coffee all over himself. “Ow ow ow! Hot! What was that, I wonder?”
Sweden quietly walked into the kitchen and started patting Finland with paper towels to help him dry up. Finland smiled and thanked him for the kind gesture before asking if he, too, heard that sound from earlier, to which Sweden grunted and nodded.
“I wonder what it was... ... Hey, Sve?”
“Ja?”
“Didn't that squeal from earlier sound a little like Yoh?”
“Ja, it did.”
Finland glanced up into the ceiling. “Maybe we should take a look and make sure she's alright? Come on, Sve!” He started pulling at Sweden and dragged him up the stairs where he started heading towards my room.
When the pair neared my slightly open door they heard the sound of me squealing again and some music. The two looked at each other questioningly before approaching my door cautiously, as they did not want to repeat another episode of the time when they had barged into my room during one of my feels marathons. It had not been pretty.
But back to the situation at hand. Once they came close enough they both recognized the voices and tunes of music that escaped the small opening that my door created. The two males smiled and carefully opened the door to my room, and sure enough, there I sat on my chair, squealing my pants off like a little child.
“NOSTALGIA NOSTALGIA BOMB!!!” I squealed as I looked at my laptop screen.
They opened the door fully and filled the doorway when they took a step inside.
“What are you watching, Yoh?” Finland chirped cheerfully.
“NOSTALGIA BOMB!!! NOSTALGIA, NOSTALGIAAAA!!!!”
The Finn laughed. “I'm glad that you still like the Moomins, Yoh.”
“Why wouldn't I?! They were pretty much what defined my childhood!! God, I'm so happy!!!”
“Where are you watching them? Since our VHS player has been broken for years I know you haven't been able to convert them to digital format.”
“I found them on YouTube! I'm so fucking happy!! I'm re-living my childhood!! God, nostalgia!!” I leapt out my chair and jumped around like Denmark on crack, then I ran over to Finland and Sweden and hugged them. “I'm so fucking happy you introduced me to these adorable creatures!! I love you, I love you, I love you!!”
Sweden cracked a smile whilst Finland was laughing gleefully. I hugged them for but a moment longer before I separated myself from them and danced around my room again.
“I mean! They're just so lovable and it's a series fitting for all ages! The characters are wonderful, the stories of each episode is well-thought out. It's simple and funny enough for a child to enjoy it, but still accessible to adults. You can watch it as a child and love it, and then be attacked by nostalgia as you re-watch them when you're older and still enjoy them because the writing is not too cheesy. It might be a little cheesy, but it's so subtle unlike in today's shows where cheesy writing is all over the place! And the characters are absolutely lovely and have memorable designs! There's also a wide array of characters, all with different backgrounds and personalities! Even the side characters were memorable! And god the voices! Those accents! So frikkin adorable!! Then there's the music! Oh my god the music! Just-... Gah!! It's, it's-!! I can't even describe it!! There're so many memorable tracks!! And god this intro!! Fuck, this intro is great! And-! Gaah!!” I ranted.
Finland smiled with his entire face and almost lit up the room all on his own, no help needed from any lamp, and even Sweden had a big gentle smile, for him, on his face. The two listened as I ranted on and on about how much I loved the show, what I loved about the show and all the nostalgia I had for it.
“I still remember when we used to watch this when I was little on that old TV, and how scared I was of the Groke! Remember when I forced Denmark to throw one of the tapes in the trash just because she was in it?”
“Ja, I rem'mb'r.”
“Me too, it was funny. Denmark made such a big show about throwing it out for you, acting like he was your knight in shining armor!”
“Yes, exactly! Ah, good times~” I reminisced. “And then Sve made plättar for me, and you made hot chocolate!”
Suddenly I sprung up from the seat I had taken on my bed. “I know!!” I exclaimed and made a dash and rushed past them as they moved to get out of my way. I stormed through the hallway and down the stairs towards the kitchen.
“What kind of idea do you think she's concocted now, Sve?”
“I d'n't kn'w, m' w'fe.”
“Please, stop calling me that, Sve...”
“Papa! Finny!! Get down here and make me plättar and hot chocolate!! I want a nostalgia marathon with the Moomins and plättar and hot chocolate!!”
They looked at each other and smiled before heading down to the kitchen as well.
“'We're coming, Yoh!”

This is just something quick that I wrote up the other day while re-living my childhood by watching said TV-Series mentioned in the drabble.
Fun story. That story about actually demanding to throw out one of the VHS tapes in my Moomin collection is actually true, except that it was my mom I told to throw out the tape not Denmark, and of course I made up the part about acting like a knight in shining armor. XD But really I was scared to death by the Groke, and looking back to it now, I can understand it. She still kind of give me the chills. *shudders*
Plättar - Basically small Nordic pancakes. Picture: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/93/Plattlagg.jpg

I don't own the Moomins
I only own the story and myself.
